Dr. Fennessy is a member of the Phoebe Sumter Orthopedic Associates, located at 922 E. Jefferson Street, Americus, GA, and is currently accepting patients. A native of Americus, Dr. Fennessy earned a B.S. in Biochemistry from the Georgia Institute of Technology, where he was also a letter-winner on the Varsity Swim Team. He then earned his Medical Degree from the Mercer University School of Medicine. Upon graduation, he completed an Internship as well as his Residency at the Atlanta Medical Center Department of Orthopedic Surgery, where he served as Chief Administrative Resident. He has worked with team orthopedic surgeons for the Atlanta Braves, Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Thrashers, Georgia Tech and Ultimate Fighting Championship. Honors and awards include AOA Medical Honor Society, Resident Research Award and Resident Teaching Award (Atlanta Medical Center). Dr. Fennessy is married to Patricia Fennessy, M.D., a local OB/GYN, and they have one daughter: Reese (9 months). They are excited to be in Americus and look forward to becoming productive members of the community. |
